Photo competition terms

Photo competition termsAll entrants must agree to the following terms and conditions. Entrants that do not agree to these terms will not be considered by the judges.

  1. The Amphibian Ark is not responsible for lost, damaged or late photographs, or for uploading connections, garbled transmissions, unauthorized intervention or technical malfunctions. All images will be checked by Amphibian Ark staff within 2 business days of them being submitted, and if any images have not been received successfully, the entrant will be contacted via email and asked to re-submit the photo.
  2. All images must be submitted electronically in jpg, tiff, png or eps format.
  3. Images must be a minimum of 5 Megapixels in size, but ideally should be 7 Megapixels or higher. Images should not be compressed in any way. Images that are not of high enough quality for printing in a calendar cannot be accepted for judging.
  4. Images containing inappropriate or offensive material will not be considered by the judges.
  5. Each photo must be accompanied by the name and email address of the photographer, the category in which it has been entered and where the photo was taken. The twelve winning photographers will be contacted and asked to submit a small photo of themselves, which will be printed in the calendar.
  6. By submitting your images, you agree that the Amphibian may use them in the future, free of charge, on the Amphibian Ark website, newsletter, or in any other Amphibian Ark publications, giving full credit to the photographer. AArk will not further distribute images without prior consent and will not release images for commercial purposes.
  7. If your photograph features any recognisable person or people, permission should be obtained for the image to be entered in the competition and to be published online and in any Amphibian Ark material. Written permission from each recognisable person (or their parents/guardians if under 18) should be obtained using the release form, and submitted with your entry.
  8. All winners will be notified via email, and results will be published on the Amphibian Ark web site  and in the Amphibian Ark Newsletter.
  9. If a winning entrant is cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, the Amphibian Ark reserves the right to offer the prize to the next best entry.
