Program Director: Africa and South Asia

We are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to work as Programme Director for the African and South Asian regions.

Amphibian Ark (AArk) was founded by the IUCN SSC Conservation Planning Specialist Group and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums in response to the worldwide amphibian extinction crisis.

Amphibians are among the most threatened groups of wildlife in the world. Amphibian Ark has been established to help secure a future for those amphibian species most at risk, working with organisations around the world to help set up conservation breeding programs that will enable future reintroduction efforts.

Amphibian Ark aims to work primarily in range countries by:

  • Prioritising species in need through the AArk Conservation Needs Assessment process
  • Building ex situ conservation capacity by providing training where needed
  • Supporting conservation breeding programs for priority species by helping to fund set-up costs through the AArk grants program
