Brazil Program Co-Coordinator

Renata has over 15 years of experience in amphibian conservation and ex situ management. She holds a Master’s and a PhD in amphibian physiology, specializing in amphibian microbiomes. Before joining Amphibian Ark, she worked with amphibian husbandry and conservation at São Paulo Zoo and helped develop Brazil’s first amphibian ex situ conservation program. Renata is also the Deputy Chair of the Brazilian regional group of the Amphibian Specialist Group (IUCN SSC ASG), where she contributes to conservation initiatives for Brazilian amphibians. At AArk, she coordinates efforts to enhance amphibian ex situ conservation in Brazil, engaging institutions to establish and implement conservation projects for endangered species. Originally from Brazil, Renata is currently based in Germany.
