Our global collaborators
Operational partners who we work with to coordinate an international response to the amphibian crisis.
The IUCN SSC ASG is a group of over 300 global experts that provide the scientific foundation to inform effective global amphibian conservation. The ASG's Red List Authority (ARLA) maintains the amphibian assessments on the IUCN Red List through the Global Amphibian Assessment Initiative. ARLA partners with 9000+ biologists worldwide to assess threats and extinction risks to global standards.
The Amphibian Survival Alliance is a network of over 90 organizations funding and coordinating global amphibian conservation in the wild.
The IUCN SSC CPSG is the world’s leading expert body on species conservation planning, designing and facilitating workshops that deliver inclusive, science-based conservation action plans to governments, Specialist Groups, zoos and aquariums, and other wildlife organizations.
For half a century, Species360 has been at the forefront of transforming how zoos and aquariums manage and share vital information. Through this partnership, all AArk recommended species rescue programs are invited to use the Species360 Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS) to record and share data on animal care, medical treatment, lifecycle traits, breeding success, and more.
Reverse the Red (RtR) is a coalition committed to accelerating strategic actions focused on recovery outcomes for wild populations. RtR does this by creating strategic connections between species conservation partners and national governments to achieve national biodiversity targets and goals.
Institutional Partners
AArk connects institutions, expertise, and information to ensure ex situ programs are strategic, visible, and working together to prevent extinction.
AArk Partner Institutions are part of a recognized global network of organizations implementing credible and best-practice ex situ amphibian conservation programs aligned with established conservation needs. Together, we form a coordinated international response to the amphibian crisis.

Our Founding Partners
Amphibian Ark was established in 2007 as a joint initiative of the IUCN SSC Conservation Planning Specialist Group (CPSG), Amphibian Specialist Group (ASG), and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), with the remit to carry out the ex situ components of the Amphibian Conservation Action Plan (ACAP).
