Next grants application call: June 2025
Amphibian Ark's grants are intended to support conservation projects for amphibian species that cannot currently be saved in the wild, with a primary focus on ex situ actions, and in partnership with appropriate field activities. Projects mainly dealing with field-based conservation are encouraged to apply elsewhere.
Grant Requirements
This application is for newly-launched ex situ rescue projects, with funding available for 1-3 years. Funded programs will receive up to US$7,000 in the first year. Additional funds will be available for year 2 (up to US$5,000) and year 3 (up to US$3,000) if projects have met their stated objectives and applicants have submitted required reports in a timely manner.
Before starting the application
You will not be able to save and return to the form so please ensure you have the following to hand before starting your application:
1. Conservation Needs Assessment
Species must have been assessed as in need of ex situ rescue or research, either as a recommendation from a Conservation Needs Assessment or a similar assessment process. You will be asked to provide the link to the CNA or equivalent. If your species does not have an assessment, please contact us at info@amphibianark.org before submitting an application.
2. Supporting Documents
Please have the following ready to complete your application:
- Project timeline: please provide a timeline of work, ideally beyond the granting period.
- We require 3 support letters:
- One letter of institutional support. This letter must verify that the institution a) is aware that the applicant is proposing this project, and b) will provide the necessary resources, time, and space to complete the proposed work for the duration of the project.
- Two letters of endorsement from recognized conservation leaders at organizations unrelated to this project.
- Project budget: please submit a budget, with distinction between funds requested from Amphibian Ark and other sources. All costs should be in US dollars.
*Accepted file formats are Doc, PDF, Excel, JPEG*
3. AArk Program Implementation Tool checklist
The AArk Program Implementation Tool is designed to hep determine whether your institution is ready for an ex-situ conservation program. If your institution is new to amphibian husbandry, please ensure you complete the PIT checklist before applying for a Program Grant.
